Haven't listened fully so I don't know if you cover this but supposedly there is a genre of romantasy written by girls and young women where two boys or two young men fall in love with each other. Their bonds are written as very tender, caring and loving. I've seen some theories on this and a popular one is that girls and women are growing up in today's misogynistic internet world perceiving male-female relationships as being aggressive and abusive. They are experiencing increasingly hostile men on first dates from dating apps, and increasingly violent sexual encounters where men attempt to strangle them as some sort of weird sex act. Teen girls are reporting going in for their first kiss only to be shocked and terrified when the teen boy attempts to strangle her.

So this is leading some girls and young women to conclude that tenderness, respect and love cannot be had in heterosexual relationships and they can only conceive of males displaying such qualities to other males.

Also, in your Youtube comments section:

@StephenSkinner-k4w Males and females are just different. Back when I used to teach high school there was a program called DEAR or Drop Everything And Read. The idea was to get teens to enjoy reading by having a reading period once a week. My wife and I were great magazine readers, so I brought magazines for the students to read if they failed to bring a book of their own. Usually more than half the class came without a book and so those students would choose a magazine.

I noticed that the girls would read Cosmopolitan and other magazines about fashion, astrology, music, health, pop culture, pets and horse riding. They boys read titles about motorcycles, cars, motor racing, hunting, team sport, fishing and surfing. The magazines that were preferred by the girls, that boys would also read, were music and pop culture titles. Very occasionally the boys would read a health magazine.

The girls never read any of the magazines that boys typically read. Never once over the year the program ran.

Aaaaand this is why we only have toys for boys around our house, hahaha

(OK, some exceptions where we caved and gave dollies and stuff to our girls, but honestly they're proving to be exceptions to this general tendency and they don't typically play with the few girly toys they have, plus our boys are more into accessorizing with jewelry and bags than our girls are at present).

I don't get why you wouldn't also keep girls toys around the house in same proportion to boys toys, unless you don't value things that are typically associated with girls. Then the quesiton is to follow... if you don't value things that are typically associated with girls, why don't you?
