Re: People giving up the right to vote in order to avoid jury duty. TLDR: The most reliable methods are working as a fireman or police officer or running for elected office (i.e. you don't have to win, or even campaign, you only have to enter your name in a local or state race, and keep running every cycle, e.g. 2-6 years)... In many districts, the voting rolls are the primary source used to pull names for jury duty, although State and Federal courts often supplement this from the state driver licence data base and tax rolls. However it seems that the state courts for Ohio and Wyoming only use voting rolls, but local courts may differ, and federal court is still probably a possibility just about anywhere. Nevertheless, if someone really, really wanted to minimize their chances of ever being called to jury duty they could (especially with the help of AI) shop for jurisdictions based on the actual published procedures, but for all the courts covered by a given location (aka it's complicated). Alternatively, you might also avoid driving and directly paying taxes, e.g. renting in certain states that don't have income tax, but instead raise money primarily through property taxes.
