You do your homework, practice, prepare, test, and are willing to fail, all the while still persisting at what matters. Then top that by continuing to push forward at a brisk, sustainable stide, with not only great intention, but attuned to all that you are bringing into being.
Unfortunately, this duty to be not just what will matter to the future, but what allows it to be, has atrophied in many, who only experience it as unimaginable pressure. First in submission (learned helplessness) then despair for loss of who they could have been, or more sadly in the young, take as poison to convert pain (so easily to overcome with even tenuous acceptance, instead) into their undoing. This vile, darkly manipulated rebellion, sold to live life, turns putrid. Warnings unheaded, it reveals deep, relentless sacrifice; no story or myth overstates its horror.
In truth, this flaccid clowning comes from the misaligned belief that they not only must not, but could never be authors with any authority, even their own lives.
This withers and crumbles every time we model differently. When children recognize the garments of this regime, their ill reason fallen thread bare, reveals only creatures without any future, cursed hauntings of the past.
This dire depth cannot hold in witness to the brilliance you to bear.
As falls this plague, and fails this plight, fools find wisdom to fold the knee as the reign of Life wields the dawn of A New Day and claims Tomorrow.
