On the one hand we hear it's women opting out and that Bumble had to put up giant billboards over looking busy streets BEGGING women to not be celibate and get back on Bumble. We hear that there's a "male loneliness crisis" that is, oddly enough, being blamed on women. That going without women to date, well, er, have sex with, somehow makes men friendless in general and overall lonely.

Now the switch has suddenlyy flipped and it's women out here feeling lost without men? I don't know if I buy it.

Anyway Malcolm, I don't think swipes on dating apps are anything to go by. Dating apps are a very visual medium so obviously the best looking men with the best sounding profiles are going to get swiped right. Duh. That doesn't mean those people are meeting in real life and dating. And even if they do it certainly doesn't mean any of that goes anywhere.

If you want to know who women are dating, who they are actually forming relationships with, leave the house and go out to a major public event. There you will see the state of American couples: very average looking (at best), average earning, average behaving, average car driving, just average ordinary people walking about with their ordinary partners.

This idea that average women refuse to settle down with anybody but a drop dead gorgeous millionaire IS DEAD WRONG!
